Musical Cue Spotlight: Niemiec Digital Media Logo Intro

Composer's Notes: This piece was commissioned by Ryan Niemiec of Niemiec Digital Media and is not for sale. It is being used as that company's logo intro jingle for 2018.

The cue starts with a four note, two-part harmony lead-in on the guitars, with four hits on the cymbals. From there the cue launches into a pretty standard 4/4 rock groove, with the guitars and bass driving forward with a hammer-on, pull-off riff, with the drums pausing at the end of each phrase to accent the both guitars' harmonic stops.

After two repetitions, the guitars, bass and drums do a sixteenth-note walk-down tail that leads into the next phrase. This repeats itself one time, until at the very end, both the guitars and drums extend the walk-down tail, before ending with a huge goose-egg, or open note, with some cymbal accents to match the guitars' high note fills. To accent the ending note, I altered a basic bass drop, and even edited the sound of a large aluminum door slamming to make the end sound more massive.

With this project it was obvious that less was more. Ryan seemed very satisfied with the final product, and we hope that he keeps us in mind when he is ready to switch things up once again!
