Mood/Feel: Heroic/Adventurous
The cue begins with two violins, one droning a single root note, the second bowing our main motif. Next, they are joined a lower octave of that same root note, this time bowed on a cello, as well as a distant voice vocalizing what sounds like a wordless Gregorian chant. Now they are joined by another violin, this time with a tremolo technique adding a fifth harmony, following the same intervals as the voices. Martial snare drums begin a military pattern, backed up by accented bass drums and cymbal crashes. A reverse cymbal pulls us into the main theme.
A french horn voices the melody from before, this time with tuba, strings, flute and clarinet accompanying it. Underneath, a synthesizer adds to the foundation, and gives the cue a retro-futuristic feel. Soon the flute breaks away, singing its own counter-melody and evoking a sense of a revolutionary-era military march.
Composer's Notes: I really love this cue. I wanted to create something heroic as well as lighthearted, something in the vein of Captain America or Indiana Jones. I plan to expand more on this motif and explore the rest of its potential. This motif/theme is currently for sale. Please contact me for more info.
